Remember when the Blues regularly closed out their opponents? What was it Hitch said...stepped on their throats? Oh wait they haven't consistently done that.

Refs put away their whistles and The Blues didn't know what to do. Blatant cross checks and no calls? I remember a very similar call in ot just being a power play.

Refs are a (frank)ing joke. Subban still up to his holding sticks i see.

What a miserable (frank)ing 3rd period.

Sums up the entire Blues season in that 20 minutes, they just don't seem to care

That could have gone better.

No one on the training staff knows the Heimlich?

I kinda think Nashville is going to win the Stanley Cup this year. They seem to be pretty complete.

Went to a game against Chicago with a friend back in 1982 and bought two tickets at the window.

My ticket said, "Obvs view". Didn't pay attention to it and didn't know what it meant.

Found out soon enough........ I was sitting behind a beam.

This team will not win with Patrik Berglund and Vladimir Sobotka in the top 9

Time to accept whatever you can get for those two guys

People think the blues have a shot at Tavares with what money?

Seriously where is the $12 Million coming from?

Up 3 with about 11 minutes left and you cant win

Ridiculous

huh.... do the math man.

1st the cap is going up anywhere from +$3-8 million,
Stastny comes off the books +$7 million
Upshall off the books +$.9 million
Brodziak off the books +$.95 million
Hutton off the books +$1.125 million

that is anywhere from $16-21 million free next year.

Young guys can take all those guys places. I agree might have to get creative and trade a Gunnarson away because you have to re-sign Edmundson and Fabbri (should come super cheap).

But this lineup would be amazing:

Steen Tavares Tarasenko
Schwartz Schenn Fabbri
Berglund Thompson Kyrou
Sobotka Barbashev Jaskin

Bouwmeester Petrangelo
Edmundson Paryko
Dunn Bortuzzo

Allen

$12 Million for Tavares

Leaves $1-6 Million to resign Fabbri and Edmundson and replace all the guys you have walking if the rookies don't work out.

Moving Sobotka and Berglund which are not worth their contract frees up enough money to take a run at Tavares

Why would JT want to play in STL?

He is pretty good friends with Pietrangelo. They played together on the Toronto Blues (https://twitter.com/WTPHo...status/457274464724480000) plus playing with Tarasenko has to be exciting.

What’s amazing about this season is I didn’t expect them to be good. When they came out like gangbusters, I thought, “hmm... maybe I was wrong!” They’ve regressed to what I thought they’d be.

The only question that I would have is does he want to be in a small market after playing in NYC?

Islanders don't even have their own rink yet. I think he wouldn't mind ha.

I just don't see how he comes here yes the future looks bright but the future has looked bright before only for the team to under perform year after year

It's brighter than Long Island.... at least we are making the playoffs and have the last 6 years. Also we have ownership that cares, spends to the cap, brought us the winter classic, and is trying to bring us the all star game. I know the last game sucked, but look at the big picture.

Sorry my numbers were off. We have 13 (12.6) free without the cap going up. Its going up 3-8 million guaranteed. so that gives us 16-21 free. We have the space for sure.

St Louis is still a mid-market team though. It’d be interesting to see what ownership’s analysis of internal cap to playoff rounds played makes break-even on the budget.

The Blues should definitely take a run at him, it would be good timing with Stastny's contract expiring. If I had to guess I'd say Tavares stays on the Island though.

Tavares is not going anywhere, unless ................. Please DA get Hoffman or Nash so we can get Berglund into the bottom six. Schenn between Schwartz and Hoffman would be lights out, if not Hoffman how about Rick Nash for the stretch run.

This could spell an end to Sobotka’s tenure with the Bluenote.

JR said yesterday Sobotka and Berglund have been mentioned in a lot of trade chatter

Please trade both of them if you can for whatever you can get

Way more Cap Fleixibility without those two contracts

I like this pickup if he can stay healthy a young bottom 6 guy
